What are clinical trials?

A clinical trial is any study conducted in humans in order to discover or confirm the clinical, pharmacological, including pharmacodynamic effects of one or more investigational medicinal products, or to identify adverse reactions to one or more investigational medicinal products, or to follow the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of one or more investigational medicinal products, having regard to their safety and efficacy
